Fiesta San Antonio® Announces New Board Leadership

SAN ANTONIO (May 24, 2017) – In its annual gathering of representatives from Fiesta San Antonio’s Participating Member Organizations Tuesday, the Fiesta San Antonio Board of Commissioners elected the 2017-2018 Executive Committee.

The executive committee officers will lead the Commission as it coordinates the 2018 Fiesta San Antonio. Each will serve a one-year term beginning June 1, 2017, and ending May 31, 2018.

“What an honor to lead this treasure of our community, now celebrating 127 years!” said Bill Mitchell, President. “This Party with a Purpose brings our diverse community together and benefits 100-plus great nonprofits and their charitable causes – and we are already working on making Fiesta 2018 h best yet!”

Mr. Mitchell, a San Antonio native, is the president of G.W. Mitchell Construction and third generation of leadership for the company. Over the years, he has served on numerous San Antonio community boards including serving as president of Alamo Kiwanis, Commander of the Texas Cavaliers, board member of the San Antonio Chapter of the Association of General Contractors, board member of 100 Club of San Antonio, board member for Mission Road Ministries, and board member of the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio. Additionally, Mitchell served as King Antonio LXXXIX in 2011. Bill and his wife, Margaret, are active members of the community and have four children and three grandchildren.

Also at Tuesday’s annual meeting of the Fiesta Commission’s membership, 10 new Elected Commissioners were elected to serve three-year terms ending in May 2020:
