Wade Shows, the producer of Fiesta Carnival, says many fan favorites will return to the Carnival, but featured this year you will find the Mega Drop, the Super Cyclone roller coaster, and the Drag Strip Mega Slide!
Towering 135’ above the midway, the mega Drop is the tallest portable drop tower in the country. The Super Cyclone, the newest addition to the Wade Shows roller coaster family will be makings its debut.
The large, train-style cars zip around the track and give the rider some awesome thrills. For the not quite so daring, the Drag Strip Mega Slide still produces some great thrills for rides that like their slides Texas-sized.
Wade Shows is a company committed to inclusion and community engagement. An example of their commitment to the community is their hosting of Fiesta® Especial’s Celebration Day on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Celebration Day welcomes individuals with disabilities and their families to experience Carnival and spend a day immersed in the rides, games, and food of Fiesta. In 2014, Fiesta Especial was faced with the decision to cancel their Celebration Day. When news reached Frank Zaitshik, owner of Wade Shows, he came to the table and donated the use of the grounds at no cost. His generous gift significantly reduces costs and allows more than one thousand children in special education programs and adults with disabilities to experience the joy and engagement in Fiesta San Antonio. This year, Fiesta Especial Celebration Day anticipates serving 3,000 individuals with disabilities and their caretakers.
“It is my pleasure to host these special guests at Fiesta Carnival,” said Zaitshik. “Wade Shows has been a part of the San Antonio for many, many years and it my pleasure to be able to participate in such a wonderful event,” he added.
Fiesta San Antonio and Wade Shows are also committed to the City of San Antonio’s Green Initiative. Fiesta Carnival is primarily illuminated by energy-saving LED bulbs, decreasing energy usage by more than 90 percent compared to conventional bulbs. Fiesta San Antonio and Wade shows ask attendees to party responsibly and use the earth-friendly trash receptacles located along parade routes and at more than 100 Fiesta events, including Carnival
Fiesta Carnival participants can save up to $7 through April 18th at local O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Stores or at wadeshows.com.
