DESCRIPTION:\nRooted in 1948 – Civil engineer Reynolds Andricks introduced the idea of a nighttime illuminated parade for San Antonio’s growing festival. \n\n\n \n\n\n“Flambeau” means “torch”- early participants lit the route with torches and flares, creating a glowing nighttime spectacle. 🔥\n\n\n \n\n\nToday, it’s known as “America’s largest illuminated night parade,” featuring dazzling lights and unforgettable performances.\n\n\n \n\n\nMassive participation & audience – over 150 parade entries travel a 3.1-mile route, drawing nearly 800,000 spectators downtown each year! 🤩 👏 \n\n\n \n\n\nA bright tradition – early floats were repurposed from the Battle of Flowers Parade and illuminated for the night showcase.\n\n\n \n\n\nA look back – in 1948, tickets cost just 60¢ for general admission and $1.10 for reserved seating!\n\n\n \n\n\nHonoring history – the first official Fiesta Flambeau in 1951, themed “Blessings of Liberty,” paid tribute to the armed forces with 50 floats, 30 bands, and 10,000 torches. 🇺🇸\n\n\n \n\n\nA true night parade – the event begins after sundown, transforming the city into a glowing celebration. 🌙🌟 \n\n\n \n\n\nMore than a parade – as part of Fiesta® San Antonio, it supports community engagement and nonprofit fundraising efforts across the city.\n\n\n \n\n\nAn evolving spectacle – from torches to today’s LED-lit floats, illuminated instruments, and high-tech displays, the parade continues to grow in scale and creativity. ✨\n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n🎟️ Admission:\n\n\nStreet Chair Tickets – click HERE!\n\n\nBleacher Seat Tickets – click HERE!\n\n
