JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Open House

The event is an opportunity for JBSA service members to directly connect with San Antonio area community members and show them why JBSA is the #1 Place to Work, Train & Live – at the Leading Edge of Innovation & Joint Solutions. The open house is free to attend and open to the public.

 The day will kick off with an opening ceremony at noon, followed by museum tours, military demonstrations, and a wide variety of activities for families.

 The 323rd Army Band – “Fort Sam’s Own” and the U.S. Air Force’s Band of the West will perform during the day, and the evening will conclude with an opening performance by veteran and singer-songwriter Joey Anderson, followed by country-blues-rocker Frankie Ballard.

 The general public should enter JBSA-Fort Sam Houston through Harry Wurzbach Road. DOD ID cardholders can use the Walters or New Braunfels gates.

 In general, traffic will flow as follows:

            -All I-410 traffic should exit at Harry Wurzbach and proceed South to the Wurzbach Gate.

            -Traffic from I-35 should exit at Rittiman Road and proceed West to Harry Wurzbach.

-DOD ID cardholders may enter through the Walters or New Braunfels gates.

 Visitors should keep in mind that weapons of any kind, outside food and drinks, and coolers are prohibited, and all bags will be searched.

Admission to this event is free.
