The Alpha Pi Zeta Fiesta Track Meet started in April 1984 and is a signature event for our sorority chapter.

The Alpha Pi Zeta Fiesta Track Meet includes two awards named after two pioneers, Frank Garrett and Elva Mann.

The Frank Garrett award is named for a dedicated San Antonio citizen who dedicated his life and energies to the local youth and Parks and Recreation Services.

The Mann award is named for Elva Mann whose zeal for sports captured the spirit of Fiesta and our city’s youth.

The Alpha Pi Zeta Fiesta Track Meet started with Vertie J Young, Audrae Bibbs, Gaynell Gainer, Frank Garrett, William (Bill) Hudgins, Edward Young, Bill Wallace, and Oza B. Johnson to engage city youth.
