The Starfish Dash 5K Run/Walk & Health Fair

  • Based in San Antonio for over 32 years, the Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting special-needs children, adults, and their families affected by chromosome 18 conditions.

 

  • The only research center in the world for chromosome 18 conditions is right here in San Antonio at UT Health.

 

  • The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society serves 4000 members in the U.S. and another 2000 international.

 

  • Chromosome 18 conditions are rare diseases and can mean a variety of complex medical issues for affected children and individuals including cognitive and physical disabilities, autism, and vision and hearing impairment.

 

  • The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society was started by a mother of a chromosome 18 child, Dr. Jannine Cody.

 

  • The Starfish Dash 5K Run/Walk & Health Fair is a free, family-friendly Fiesta event at the UT health campus.

 

  • The Starfish Dash has a children’s fun run race before the 5K Run/Walk begins.

 

  • The Starfish Dash will provide free health and wellness services like blood pressure testing, health screening and vaccines.

 

  • The Starfish Dash will have a military band, cosplayers, local vendors, and much more!

 

  • Come out to the Starfish Dash and help raise awareness about chromosome 18 conditions and fundraise to support vital Chromosome 18 Research.
