Team Tough is an obstacle course event for high school students competing as a team and representing their high school. Teams will be comprised of 21 members; 10 male students, 10 female students and an U.S. Army soldier that will serve as team captain.
School Booster Clubs will support development of campus teams, participate in the Tug-of-War event, set up their team tent and provide food & drinks. A portion of proceeds will benefit the booster clubs that participate.
San Antonio Sports and the U.S. Army will also provide additional engagement activities for teams that will count towards team point totals. Teams will be responsible for designing their Fiesta Team Tough Shirts for the event. All finishers receive a specially designed Team Tough Fiesta Medal.
San Antonio Sports is local 501c3 and serves as the city’s sports commission with a mission to transform our community through the power or sport, focusing on healthy kids, places to play and events that impact. For nearly 35 years, San Antonio Sports (SAS) has attracted events like the NCAA Men’s Final Four to our city generating significant economic impact. Additionally, (SAS) offers free programs to our community such as Fit Family Challenge, Go Kids Challenge and I play! Afterschool that not only focus on being fit and active, but also healthy habits such as limiting fast food and maximizing water, fruit and vegetable intake. These and other programs produce measurable and meaningful results for participants.
