Battle of Flowers Band Festival
- The Band Festival is the first and oldest high school marching band festival in the United States.
- The first Battle of Flowers Band Festival was held in Municipal Auditorium Circle prior to the parade in 1936.
- In 1941, the Band Festival moved to Alamo Stadium for the first time.
- The purpose of the Band Festival is to encourage interest in the study of music in a unique venue of cooperation.
- More than 30 local high school bands compete and perform in the annual festival.
- Over 4500 students participated last year.
- This is the biggest event held in Alamo Stadium.
- The 86th Band Festival will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Our Band Festival Executive Committee is comprised of 16 local area band directors and fine arts directors. They choose the music, choreograph the color guard routines, select the judges and the guest conductor, organize all the parking (we have over 200 buses, semis, and trailers that bring the students and their gear to Alamo Stadium). The leader of this group, James Miculka has been the Band Festival Executive Producer for 39 years.
BATTLE OF FLOWERS COMMITTEE
The BOF Committee oversees tickets, logistics, the dignitary reception, patches, trophies, music grants, etc.
Event Information:
Gates open at 5 PM. Dignitary Reception starts at 6 PM.
Prelude starts at 6:30 PM. Band Festival starts at 7 PM.

Tickets will be available to the General Public beginning the week of February 19, 2024.
