The San Antonio Symphonic Band (SASB) is made up entirely of volunteer musicians from diverse backgrounds and experience levels, all united by a passion for music and community service! 🎶

SASB performs for San Antonio and surrounding communities, and all concerts are free and open to the public.

On September 4, 1986, the San Antonio City Council officially designated the band as “The Official Band of the Alamo City.” The band’s first concert was held at the Hemisfair Convention Center on November 30, 1986, captivating a large audience attending the National League of Cities Convention.

Formerly known as The San Antonio Municipal Band, SASB is a designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All generous donations are tax deductible and directly support the band’s mission.

In addition to its Fiesta® performance, SASB traditionally presents five free concerts each season: Halloween, Christmas, Spring, Fiesta®, and Independence Day. The band is also scheduled to travel to New York in June 2026 to perform aboard the Intrepid. 🤩 ✨
