Miss Fiesta San Antonio 2020 -22: Calista Burns is a proud San Antonio native who grew up on the Southeast side of the city and graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in Education and a double minor in Mathematics and Reading. Calista’s passion has always been giving back and helping other young girls in Title l schools who would not have opportunities otherwise. Her community service project, GEMS, (Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science) educated, influenced, and exposed more girls to the STEM fields and provided hands-on experiences in engineering, coding, programming and robotics. Because of Calista’s project, girls received opportunities to expand their dreams, just as she had been given the wonderful opportunity of serving as Miss Fiesta San Antonio 2020-22. Calista was the longest serving Miss Fiesta during some of the most challenging times.
