President

Barton T. Simpson serves as Executive Director of the Alamo Colleges
Foundation, where he leads philanthropic strategy and community engagement in
support of student success across the Alamo Colleges District. With a deep
commitment to expanding access to higher education, Simpson oversees fundraising
initiatives that provide scholarships, emergency aid, and innovative program support to thousands of students each year.

Under his leadership, the Foundation has strengthened partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, and donors to advance equity and workforce readiness in the greater San Antonio region. Simpson brings extensive experience in nonprofit management, community development, and strategic philanthropy, having held key leadership roles in purpose-driven organizations prior to joining the Alamo Colleges.

In addition to his work in education, Simpson has a long and distinguished record of service with Fiesta San Antonio. He served as the Texas Cavaliers River Parade Marshal in 2017, Commander from 2019 to 2021, and King Antonio XCIX in 2022. He has held numerous leadership roles within the Fiesta Commission, including service on the Executive Committee, multiple officer positions, Parade Chairman, and as President of a Participating Member Organization (PMO), demonstrating his deep civic commitment to San Antonio’s cultural heritage and community spirit.
