Richard Delgado Jr.
Fiesta® Commissioner
Richard Delgado, Jr. is a lifetime Texan who served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. Entering the delayed entry program at the age of 17, Richard has spent his life serving his community, our country and its heroes. Struggling to recover from his own injuries and dealing with the mental anguish of losing fellow Marines, Richard has overcome many obstacles and is the epitome of determination and commitment to recovery and a “new normal”. After leaving active duty and searching for help himself, Richard found that there was a large disconnect in care, resources, and the ability for Veterans and their families to access and understand what was available for them.
With the support of his lovely wife Natasha, a combat Marine herself, and their two sons Dominic and Xavier, and daughter Kalena, Richard made a commitment to make the road of recovery, reintegration and understanding easier for other Veterans and their families. In his journey, he found a calling in education and a core belief that if you can help educate someone, whether through the university or lifetime experiences, that you can create a better path which will create better communities and access to greater opportunities in life. He began this journey with the Texas A&M University-San Antonio, where he spent fifteen years until joining The Boeing Company in 2021. He is the Senior Community Investor for the San Antonio region for Boeing Global Engagement. In his role, Richard is responsible for establishing and managing relationships with community and business partners by networking, sharing information, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and philanthropic investment in order to maximize impact in San Antonio and across Texas and promote Boeing as a global leader in corporate citizenship. He will support the needs of the business and the community by investing in strategically aligned programs with nonprofit organizations and supporting employee community engagement activities. Using his strong values learned as a Marine, Richard has become a national figure that has spoken to dozens of panels educating the nation on the value of embracing military and Veterans in the community. He has been featured in 2016 People Magazine for his dedication to serving Veterans, appointed by Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the City of San Antonio City Commission of Veterans Affairs, and co-founder of one of the first Community Veteran Engagement Boards (CVEB) in the nation bringing the Veteran voice to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Richard holds a Bachelor’ degree in Business Management from Texas A&M University-San Antonio and a Masters of Jurisprudence in Business Law and Compliance from Texas A & M University School of Law.
