Birthplace of SEALs
The Navy’s elite Special Forces, known as the SEALs (Sea, Air, and Land), were established in 1962. They are among the most highly trained and versatile special operations forces in the world.

 

 

“Anchors Aweigh”
The Navy’s unofficial anthem, “Anchors Aweigh,” was composed in 1906 by Charles A. Zimmermann and Alfred Hart Miles. It has become a symbol of Navy pride and tradition.
